ABOUT POMARIA
Created by Qualex Landmark
Congratulations Pomaria! Pomaria has been awarded "Best High-Rise" by the Urban Development Institute (UDI) on Wednesday, October 3, 2007. "Carina & Callisto" of the Coal Harbour waterfront (www.carinawatch.com & www.callistowatch.com) was the former winner of this prestigious UDI Award of Excellence.
Pomaria is a park front building located in the well established False Creek North neighbourhood surrounded by mountain, ocean, creek and city views. Suites feature practical and innovative floor plans.
Developed by Qualex-Landmark and designed by Rafii Architects and Robert Ledingham offering.
Pomaria, Vancouver's newest and finest residential high rise is now complete.
Pomaria. A True Original.
Once in a very long while, a true original comes to fruition. Pomaria is just that. It’s an inspired tower of large, open homes and lush sky gardens. And it’s just steps from the restaurants, markets and outdoor life of False Creek and English Bay. Pomaria is a home that’s unlike others. And that’s largely because it isn’t a mass-produced product. It’s a carefully crafted home from people who take the time to nurture the growth and development of each step along the way. And the result is not just a unique home, it’s a well built home whose benchmark is whether the architect, builder or developer would want to live there themselves. If it doesn’t meet this criteria, it isn’t a Qualex-Landmark original.A Garden Full of Delights
The edge of False Creek is dotted with marinas, cafés and restaurants. And there’s the wide promenade of the sea wall, where you can stroll, cycle, rollerblade, jog or just enjoy the view and watch the boats and the bladers slip by. Restaurants like “C” and Fiddlehead Joe’s are on your side of the creek. Just across the water on Granville Island, you’ll find other favourites like Sandbar, Bridges and the Dockside Restaurant, Lounge and Brewpub. The funny thing is, that even though you’re downtown, and this close to so much of the best that Vancouver has to offer, life between the bridges has a calmness that’s difficult to find anywhere. It really is a bit of an oasis. Not Just a Green Thumb. A Green Building.
Pomaria will be one of the first residential towers to pursue LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. It’s an environmental program that sets standards for things like energy efficiency, water management, chemical off-gassing and sustainable architecture. The great thing about making this a LEED-certified building is that the benefits are obvious, tangible and improve the quality of every aspect of living at Pomaria. This approach also ensures that the building of Pomaria has a reduced impact on our environment. Below are some of the highlights.Healthy interiors
- Improved ventilation for more frequently circulated fresh air
- Selection of healthy interior finishing materials
- Construction air quality management plan
- Opportunities for natural cross-ventilation
- Carbon monoxide monitoring
Improving our natural environment
Materials and Resources
With careful selection of materials and construction management measures, resource use and pressure on landfills can be decreased significantly.Storm-water Management
Particular attention will be paid to reducing rain water run-off. This reduces the impact on our City infrastructure and our natural waterways.Cost savings
Energy Efficiency
- Improved envelope efficiency to decrease heat loss and gain
- Geothermal ground-source heat pump system that provides energy for heating, cooling and hot water
- Heating and hot water systems that optimize energy consumption
- Energy efficient light fixtures and systems
Water Efficiency
Reducing water usage decreases operating costs and the impact on the water/sewer infrastructure and our natural environment without impacting enjoyment of your home.- Water and energy efficient front loading washing machines
- Dual flush toilets which reduce water use by over 30%
- Natural landscaping that requires reduced irrigation
- High efficiency irrigation system for landscaping
What is LEED®?
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. To learn more about LEED, visit: http://www.usgbc.org/DisplayPage.aspx?CategoryID=19.
Pom Poms for Pomaria!
It was an apple-sweet moment for Persian expatriates Mohammed Esfahani and Roger Navabi last week, when their 30-floor Pomaria tower at Beach and Howe received the Urban Development Institutes' excellence award for highrise multi-family development. Pomaria means "apple garden" in Latin ... Read More
Thanks to Jennifer, we just sold our condo very quickly--in 4 days after the first open house. Then, Jennifer found for us a nice new place to move in. We recommend Jennifer to anyone who needs to sell/buy a condo. She is "the expert" in helping people sell his/her Yaletown condo. Not only she does work hard and is organized, she knows the market and is "the deal maker". Listen to her advice, you will get an immediate result.
